Resin is a liquid that does not dissolve in water. Resin can be synthetic or natural. Natural resins, called rosins, are a sticky substance extracted from the pitch of pine trees. Epoxy resin, used in most craft projects, was commercialized in 1946. We use resin in many things from varnishes to perfumes.
